i installed new fuel pumps and new filter/strainer

it was running good then just shut off

i checked my switch under the carpet on the pass side it wasnt up or anything ...it was down and had slack !

it gets fuel to the filter ( trust me it had alot of pressure!)

i need this thing back on the road asap using it for a move so im SOL so far and need her to go again !!!

is there some relay's i can check ...ps i checked my fuses anf none are shot !!!

start at the top of the list fuel pump works there is gas to the fuel filter so now u gotta do a pressure test just cause u think it has pressure be it u pulled the filter off and it shot out or u just think it does doesnt mean it has enough. het a tool that checks the pressure. and then u gotta thing maybe ur injectors are clogged and need cleaning or they need to be replaced???? just my thought maybe some of the more knowlageable guys on here will chime in.

Well the b2 went from running just fine to just quitting while going down the road.... I replaced all of this bc I thought one of my pumps was bad or throwing just to low of pressure... And hell everything looks as if it hasn't been tohuched.... I don't have a pressure tester on hand so I'm unaware of the psi.... And I found the shrader valve and pressed that and only heard a hissing sound so....doubt I'm getting anything to the injectors......didn't know if there was a relay for them or for the truck to tell the injectors they need fuel at this time!!

there is ur prob then if no fuel is coming out of there that maens the problem lies before that point. oh and when u replaced the pumps i dont know if it matters but i know the two pumps one is a low pressure and one is a high pressure did u possibly replace them with two low pressure pumps? dont know if that would make a difference or not.

No I'm sure that's not the issue....I have done this process on a ranger where it had 2 pumps....and these match up....just wondering a way to see what's blocking the system after the exit of the fuel filter!

the relay is on the passenger side inner fender. Believe its the one with the green relay.

You really need to check that pressure. How is it getting to the filter but not the rail? If its actually getting to the filter than that means its getting past the low pressure pump on the frame rail.

Also, take the wires on the inertia switch and jump them together. Mine seemed fine but was actually at fault. Its a possibility.

Hope you get it fixed.

Can you actually hear both fuel pumps run when you turn the key to "on"?

You can unplug the high pressure pump if it make it too loud to hear the in-tank pump. BTW you can short one of the pins on the ECM test connector to make the pumps run constantly - great troubleshooting tool.

There is no point in getting a pressure reading at the fuel rail if all you are getting is air hissing out (your fuel pressure reading right now would be exactly zero.) You should be getting sprayed with fuel.

Also, since you have recently replaced pieces of your fuel system, it is totally possible that you haven't gotten it primed completely yet. Short the pin on the ECM connector to ground (as shown in the pic below) and let the pumps run for 5-10 seconds and see if you have fuel at the rail then.

My guess is that you're not getting anything past the tank, it's not fully primed, or something is kinked/unplugged/etc.

This is the pin you need to ground out:

Update.
I now have fuel coming out the fuel raill.....also took off the fuel pressure reg. And I can't get any air to pass through it.... When I did take it I had a small amount of fuel come out but not a ton...could this part be bad if I can't even get pressure through?
I also hooked my air blower to it and sent around 35psi into it and still nothing....I can see a spring in there but what's the next step.....thanks for all the help so far!!

Well the regulator works off engine vacuum, not air pressure. Engine vacuum pulls it open.

If you have proper fuel pressure at the rail, you should have a lot of fuel coming out, not just a little bit.

If you have fuel at the regulator then test the regulator to see if it works correctly. Or take a chance and replace it. As mentioned you should have lots o fuel at the fuel rail, not a trickle.

Wow so I'm stumped....

All ya gotta do is work from the tank forward.

1. Check tank pump, does it have power, is it working, do you have fuel coming out of the sending unit?
2. Do you have fuel past the accumulator? (black plastic canister thing on the frame)
3. Check high pressure pump on the frame, do you have fuel TO it, does it have power and is it working, and will fuel come out of it?
4. Is the filter installed backwards, if not, do you have fuel coming out of it?

If everything above checks out, pull the fuel line off the regulator, put it in a catch can and short the ECM connector. Do you get a lot of fuel out of the line? If so, the regulator is then suspect. Process of elimination!
