I recently got a little Garmin GPS for the Ohio trip, I have been playing with it on our dr trips in Omaha and have found it incredibly handy to just let it run without directions or anything so I know what is coming up and whatnot.

Jim said on his Loan Ranger you can run aps from your phone like googlemaps on the Ranger system, can you still do that if you don't get the $800 navigation system?

I just looked at one of the brochures. As far as I can tell, the base model system (Equipment Group 101A) does not support Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, but the next options up without nav (301A and 302A) do, as well as the package that gets you nav (501A).

I didn't know if there were GPS related bits the googlemap app would use from the factory nav.

Even if they're not built into the radio, the phone should be able to provide that internally and still push it over.

Missouri River is still making a mess of things, I29 in Iowa is still underwater in two places, lots of traffic on my highway because it is the detour between Kansas City and Omaha. For a ways on what of 29 that is open it is like you are driving thru a lake. Supposed to be going down again though.

Build your truck thing says which package will talk to your phone, I didn’t know if more was needed to travel by lines than for Iheart radio or candy crush or whatever other reason one would want their truck to talk to their phone.
