So im pretty sure this part is bad, but i cannot find what it is called anywhere. I keep hearing a popping noise like it is broken.....can someone tell me what the hell this is? Has a plug that is only like a 2-3 wire rectangle plug. Cant find sign of it anywhere at any parts store, or even online but i see it here included with the new carb on Rock Auto.

It is located on the BACK of the carb, and it is NOT the idle speed actuator that works the throttle lever. Thanks guys! :icon_confused:

My first guess would be some kind of electrically operated choke thingy.

The carb has a vacuum operated choke, but im not sure if maybe it has anything to do with that or what.....another thought of mine is something to do with the secondaries.

That may be the module that controls how fast the throttle can snap closed.

Edit - I think that's the mixture control solenoid.

I can't recall the name without my manuals, but that is a solenoid that allows air into the carb to prevent it from running rich. The computer turns it on and off rapidly when at cruising speed.
A junk yard might be your best bet - they last almost forever. (I'll look through my stuff next week to see if I have one if you haven't found one by then.)

Or if you can't source one. This can be had for a reasonable offer. Just sitting in my shop taking up space.
