Mystery source of water ingress

1993 XLT has been collecting water on the passenger floorboard for a while now and seems to be getting worse. I pulled that trim piece and discovered water dripping in where the arrow points. The headliner panel is all but disentigrated in that corner, as it gets soaked and water runs on down to the floor. You can see where I got some silicone sealant up in that crevice (which helps absolutely nothing); also sealed the rubber trim along the top of the windshield, where it has weathered and shrunk. I don't see any other source of ingress, but still, with just a garden hose I can douse the front part of the roof and that spot is dripping again. What could I be missing? I need this fixed before winter weather sets in. -thanks

There isn't much that can leak up there except the windshield seal. Seal that all the way across. On the i side, there are 2 layers of metal spot wlded together up there. So, the leak could be anywhere across the top and running across on the inside until ot ginds a place to drip out. There is also a small roof seam on the front top corners that you can try to seal. Otherwise, you'll need to pull the whole gasket off, clean, sand, find and repair any rust holes, then prime and paint as necessary before replacing the gasket.

yup, and its very common to get rust under the edges of hte windshield but not visible without hte windshield removed. especially along the bottom corners where the windshield sits. it also drips down in the same area.

when running the hose, do you have water going into the vents by the wipers? that wiper box area rusts too and can drip down into the foot area
