2.3L ('83-'97) Mystery sensor

Can anyone identify this sensor? It screws into a pocket in the intake but is not exposed to any vacuum or water. I can't find the part number in the Google machine. This is on a 1985 F.I. 2.3L

the big flat mating surface is usually a knock sensor.
that's my guess and I'm not going to admit to anything.

That's just about the only sensor that doesn't touch coolant, air or oil.

I would also guess Knock Sensor

What color are the two wires?
Yellow/red was Knock Sensor

The two wires are Green and Black w/white stripe

Black/white stripe was common ground for most sensors pre-1990

Solid Green could be knock sensor as I don't see that color used on any other sensor, it would go to pin 23 on computer

You can test knock sensor with engine running

Use a metal tool and tap any metal part of running engine, RPM should react with each "tap" depending on the part of engine being "tapped" needs to be a good sharp "tap"
