I knew it's a 9 I was wondering what it's doing in an 8.8" housing. I had a fun time telling the kid at o'reily's it's a 9" in an 8.8 housing and a seal for a 9" won"t fit, I got the same look when I explained what makes the sun so bright to my dogDefinitely not an 8.8, it's pretty clearly a 9". With the million variants of those floating around out there, I'm not surprised that it takes a different seal. The mid 80's were a weird time for Ford.
FWIW my '86 F150 came with a 9" from the factory - most of those trucks came with 8.8's by then.
My 83 had an 8.8.
Ford did alot of weird shit in tfe mid 80s. Unless the parts store cpu is wrong.
I'm wondering about your terminology.I knew it's a 9 I was wondering what it's doing in an 8.8" housing. I had a fun time telling the kid at o'reily's it's a 9" in an 8.8 housing and a seal for a 9" won"t fit, I got the same look when I explained what makes the sun so bright to my dog
