I have been noticing an oil leak for the past few months it started out very small and I honestly wasn't overly concerned about it. But then one day when I got home from work I noticed the Oil leak had grown exponentially since I had left that morning. I replaced all my gaskets from the head gaskets up but the leak is still there its coming from the front drivers side. I'm just looking for any suggestions as to where to start next. its a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 with the 4.0 OHV

Don't worry about it, it will go away eventually. :icon_twisted:

Engine oil, gear oil, power steering fluid or tranny fluid?

Could be the oil pan, power steering setup, front differential, t-case running down the driveshaft or the tranny cooler lines if you have an automatic.

Gonna have to get dirty and see what it is and where it is coming from. :icon_thumby:

wipe the entire thing clean with degreaser then turn her on and just let her idle and watch. If that doesnt work paint the motor white and just watch, jk.

It's probably power steering fluid.

My truck has the same issue,1999 4x4. Its the power steering on mine. Find some power steering fluid that has a red tint to it and put it in your power steering. When it leaks you will be able to see the red color.

Oil pressure sender is also in that area, may be the culprit

Gee, where to start.

What color is it?

Crank seal, front cover gasket, oil pan gasket, front diff, power steering, they are all right in that area.
