I have a 95 Ranger. My friend, who knows his way around vehicles, just help me replace a couple brake lines. Due to health problems, he can't help me with this new one. All was good after replacing the main line to the master cylinder, and from the junction to the left rear. I drove it about 40 miles, and checked it when I was done. No leaks.
The next morning I had fluid under my tire on the rear right. When I looked, i couldnt see a leak visible. I refilled the fluid, drove it, checked for leak when i got back, still see nothing. The next morning, fluid is back.
I dont get how there's no fluid, until quite some time after I've stopped. Do i just replace that line also, even though I can't find the leak?
TOTALLY STUMPED!!!!!!:dunno:

It might be the wheel cylinder in the drum. its the only fluid driven component of a drum brake... so if the fluid is leaking onto the rim and tire i would check that. if thats the problem their cheap and easy to fix. only like $15 front auto parts store..

the reason its pooling only when your truck sits is probably because the wheel cylinders are about the lowest point in your brake system. gravity is draining it out.

I'm with Akimbo. Check your cylinders, that's probably where it is.

I'll third that, that's what mine is doing and the cylinder is shot... pull the tire and the drum, if there's fluid under there then it's shot. like said, they're $10-15, hardest part is getting the brake pads and hardware off and back on
