i was driving my truck the other day(96 ranger with 2.3l) and the engine chugged a few times and the check engine light came on i had it checked at o'reillys(for free) and it said intrmittant 3rd cyl missfire i checked the wires and plugs and everything seems fine and it hasn't happened since so i erased the trouble codes and bought a code reader from my friend since he doesn't use it anymore so far so good the wires are the original as is the coil pack,i know i need to change the wires but the plastic handles are broken on two of the wires and i can't find replacements and they make replacing the wires much easier,also would aftermarket coils do better or should i stick with motorcraft?sorry for being so long winded but the only others problems i've had is the tranny and clutch because the p.o. tried to pull 5000 lbs of logs more than 100 miles and it took out the front bearing in the tranny and didn't help the clutch any.
