stop whining post what your issues with the truck. you might be able to fix it yourself.

is that $1800 that a shop would charge you? if so, that's like $500 plus the time it take you if you do it yourself. if you need $1800 worth of new parts, my only question is how the hell are you driving it?

Ok crybaby... wipe your eyes and manup! Give some particulars here if you want anything more than sympathy. If sympathy is what you are after maybe a cooking forum would be a better place to post.

Hmm same year as my piece of garbage, 2000 must have been a bad year for the ranger. I baby mine and it has more problems than people that beat the hell out of theirs.

Thats because the truck want to be abused. it breaks stuff... so that it hopes you will use it more manly like.

Mine only needs $300 in parts at cost and I can do the labor myself.

i body slam mine out in the desert once in awhile, powerslide it, power brake it(not anymore need a new clutch), speed around in the dunes and take it over whoops(bad idea leads to body slamming). and she will not die. thats why i love it. i don't think i have had to replace anything yet other than by choice and through my own retarded fault, and of course the wear out stuff, don't blame the 98-00 models it's not their fault.

Let's start guessing...

3.0? Head gaskets and/or heads...

 for you. Spot on in my case but as mentioned, $300 at my cost for awesome rebiuld heads and I will do the labor myself.

of course the 1800 is the outrageously jacked up price of some mechanic.
there is no way i would actually pay that. but when you just walk out of school and listen to that voicemail it just makes ya go ughhhh.

anyways, whats wong, burnt up valves in my 3.0l, and the transmission is going to hell again.
someone on here is selling me new heads with valves for $100 plus shipping. and i plan on trying to find a used tranny somewhere for about the same or less than it would be to rebuild mine.
so in reality it wont cost me 1800 bucks. when i posted that i had just had a really down day.

and im not going to college in the middle of the semester. by "soon" i ment like 5 months..ish..close enough.

and done be haters guys, i only cried long enough to make some mud to play in =]
