i have a 93 2.3l ranger i have a proble with the throtle body frezzing up in cold weather any one know anything about it

Never heard of this before...I've heard of carbs freezing...so I'd imagine it's similar...but there is a warm air duct that runs off the manifold on carbed engines to allow warmer air in during warmup...once it closes it draws cold air from the air intake...

Are you running a CAI by any chance?

Not sure if what you are experiencing is actually freezing up...if the throttle is sticking that could be a number of things other than just cold...like the return spring and/or sensor is wonky...that would cause the throttle to stick more than just the cold...

throttle bodies are just a vulnerable to icing as carbs are. its something manufacturers deal with all the time. part of the reason for employing preheaters and heated throttle bodies and the like.

i would ensure your preheater is working, like mark suggested. if the hose has come disconnected or the manifold shroud has rusted away, it will cause icing problems.

wonky...that still cracks me up
