i got some poly spacers about 6 months ago after i built my winch bumper...

this is what they look like now

as you can see they split in 2 spots and mushroomed to practically flat...

here is the spacers i fabbed out of 2 1/2" .250 wall tubing and 1/4" flat plate...

Those washers got really messed up. I think your design looks more sound.
 
Been thinkin bout getting some of the daystar polys, and now i'm not lol
 
Why the heck would they even make poly coil spacers? That doesn't even make sense. They couldn't even accurately advertise the lift height unless they knew the weight of the vehicle (poly will deform significantly under load). I'm sure stacking washers would be cheaper anyways, plus you can dial in your lift height.

I've never understood this either. It's pretty much a given that a soft chunk of urethane is gonna crush and split apart under 1800lbs of constant pressure... :icon_confused:

Metal is really the only thing that belongs under a coil spring.
 
Mine looked like that too. The bad part is as the spacer deforms and smashes down, it throws your alignment all out of wack. More of a reason to stay away from these damn things.
