Well first of all scooter I like watching your vids, you have a sweet crawler. But it does give more hippies more ammunition to shut down wheeling areas, not saying I don't want to drive like that once I finish my crawler. Just saying that maybe be careful what videos you do post. And if you are going to drink while wheeling try not to show the bottles in vid or pics, and be safe
Just because you're on private property, doesn't mean that everyone who watches your videos knows that, Nor does that mean that environmentalists care where you are, they are going to get pissy regardless, and it doesn't mean that everyone else has access to private property that is protected, nor does it mean that your ability to obtain, build, and insure a vehicle that has the ability to do what you enjoy won't be restricted, or become extremely expensive...
It's a term called "profiling" I'm sure you have heard of it
Yep, The two threads are pretty much a copy and past of each other.
It has become clear to me that weezl is an America/American hater... I have no time for these kind of people. After 9/11 I was recalled to active duty in the Army after having served 4 years in the Marine Corps. then 3 years in the Army, after that experience. I don't take it personal when a guy does things like saying he's part of a "gentlemens sport" and acts ungentlemanly by jumping all over me over the internet, but America hating I do take personal. I won't converse with those who just spout off on these kind of rants as we now have nothing in common anymore. I know and have known better men than the America hater.
So, weezl, I sincerely hope you have a nice life and I never hear from you again...
The wheels have come off of this thread just like Tom Slicks dragracer.

Just like South Park said "Blame Canada" ! ! !
I kid , i kid.... Your allright Weez, just gotta worry bout the things you can change. Im still gonna have some beers sometimes when i wheel, deal with it.

I did not in any way say that I hate Americans or the US, what I said was that I don't like people acting like the stereotypical american, (remember the conversation we just had about how a small number of people create a persona that is applied to everyone in a specific demographic). As much as you may dislike it, the stereotype for an American is someone who doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself, drinks beer, beats his wife, has way too many guns, drives a beaten up truck, lives in a trailer, has 10 kids who's names he can't remember, doesn't have a job.... You see where I'm going with this... Of course I don't believe that the majority of Americans are like that, I know quite a few very well, none of them match ANY of that criteria... Just as the stereotype of Canadians are fur traders that live in igloos, say aboot, wear animal skins, are super friendly (I think I've disproven that one already) and are in a relatively undeveloped country... That certainly is not true...
I also said that I do not, nor did I support the war in Afghanistan nor Iraq, I further will say that I do not support the US's current mission in Uganda... Slightly contradictory to what I just said (but what I haven't said yet) is that I did support the US military action against those responsible for the attacks on 911. In my honest opinion, there was a lot of collateral damage done in Afghanistan, not saying it was at the hand of us soldiers, part due to natural events stemming from war, part from what I believe were ulterior motives by high ranking military officers and government (oil, ect)
You as a military personnel who is proudly serving (or was) your country, has my FULL support, and respect and mean nothing personal to you or anyone else doing their job to serve their country
In fact, I personally had applied to the Canadian forces last spring, but decided not to join because of other opportunities that have come up, which I believe would be better for me long term...
Steiger, I never said you can't have a beer or two while wheeling... I do, depending on who I'm with (official club run is zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol) the thing is that there is a limit, and for me, making sure you're not publicizing that it's a drinking sport...
Plus, in Canada, not sure about the states, it is 100% illegal, to drink alcohol in a moving vehicle, and to operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated, regardless of where it is, public road, private road, ohv park, private property, your back yard... If you are caught moving your car 2 feet, in your driveway, with an open beer in your hand, you can go to jail
Uh, maybe where you live weezl, but where I live if I so please to drink while on my private property and drive, ain't nothin the cops can do.
The second I touch public property of course they can arrest me all they want. But they can't even set foot on private property without permission.
And your stereotype about Americans is pretty messed. I'd say thats more of a trailer park hillbilly stereotype.
Yeap, and that's what Most people picture, if they don't know better, and ask them to picture an American!
Basically in Canada the way the laws are written, there are municipal bylaws, provincial statutes, and federal laws, each of them have specific areas they are in effect, provincial statutes, for instance, in the province I live, include the traffic safety act, which is only in effect on public roads, which includes stuff like speed limits, stop signs, seatbelt laws, distracted driving laws... Where as municipal bylaws are usually stuff like noise violations, parking tickets... Federal laws are, for the most part, found in a document called the criminal code of Canada, which is active in the entire country regardless of where, unless otherwise specified.
"operation while impaired" states specifically:
Criminal Code of Canada said:
Operation while impaired
253. Every one commits an offence who operates a motor vehicle or vessel or operates or assists in the operation of an aircraft or of railway equipment or has the care or control of a motor vehicle, vessel, aircraft or railway equipment, whether it is in motion or not,
(a) while the person's ability to operate the vehicle, vessel, aircraft or railway equipment is impaired by alcohol or a drug; or
(b) having consumed alcohol in such a quantity that the concentration in the person's blood exceeds eighty milligrams of alcohol in one hundred millilitres of blood.
Guys please stop arguing. One of the reasons I think TRS is so awesome is that there is very little condeming/flaming... usually... Please keep it that way.
Thanks
