UPDATE: As you know....S.I.L. sold his Harley and his truck to keep from going bankrupt....

His medical bills are more than the housenote & groceries!

Thanks Obamacare.......the Illegal Mexicans down the street get free medical care for the whole family.

Anyhow..............he took a few thousand and we picked up a black 88 firebird for him to tinker with between chemo treatments.....

He already knows he will be took sick to work on it next week but he said at least he can sit & look at it.....

good attitude.....but he's still upset over his friends wife succumbing to her cancer last week...........

In a couple weeks he gets another body-scan to see if the chemo is helping any....

He's constantly in pain....some days he stays in bed....morphine/etc. 24/7...

It just ain't right!

UPDATE: He had another chemo treatment Monday......

He got home...............

He was feeling bad.........

Hospital called.................

They wanted $10,000 NOW......

His monthly health insurance somehow got canceled......

BUT the health insurance company still managed to cash his monthly $880 check to COBRA (as in the man-killing Cobra snake!!!!!!).................

Good thing that I promised God that I wouldn't cuss any more......

He's barely able to pay his house note----and THEY pull a (blank)ing stunt like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I was in an "investigating" mood I'd be looking into these costs...why does a chemo treatment cost so much? I'm sure there is a 2,000% markup on everything concerning health care...or more...

I would like to see one of those investigative reporters getting to the bottom of these costs...like the hospitals are sucking us dry...playing heavily on our fears and lack of knowledge...charging exorbitant amounts...blah, blah, blah...

Usually the hospital has patient advocates that help with billing and getting help to pay the bills. Every state has some form of insurance department that helps with problems like this especially since they cashed the check. Insurance companies get there money up front.

It's not enough that a patient MIGHT DIE....THEY HAVE TO BANKRUPT PATIENTS/LOSE HOMES/DESTROY FAMILIES WHILE THERE IS STILL MONEY TO BE HAD!

Well....we just got back from the hospital....Son-in-law was bleeding out of his nose and skin where he would scratch a mesquito or ant bite...the chemo got so thin that he got anemic in 2 days from leaking so much blood.

He was sitting on the observation table & nblood would start running out of scratch marks & his nose....

They gave him 4 bags of blood plasma/two bags of fluid to prevent dehydration/benadryl for reaction to plasma!

The bleeding stopped after the 3rd bag of plasma---it took 8 hours to get all the stuff into his veins!

WHEW!!!!

I had bladder cancer, had the operation, when I was well enough they told me I had to have chemo or I would get bone cancer, I got all the reports on my operation witch stated all the cancer was removed and my nodes where clean, I told the doctor to f..... off, kept calling me, saying I would only have six months at most, that was 12 years ago, that doctor is now gone from the same thing I had, get the reports on his operation, doctors lie for profit, and its not obama care that made this happen, its from not socializing medicine, be your on advocate for your health care, AND HAVE HIM SIGN EVERTHING OVER TO YOU AND GET SOME MEDICAID, But money is just money he on the other hand is not replaceable, and I wish all of your loved ones the best

thanks.......his sister took him back to the doctor today to see if he needed another transfusion (4 hours per transfusion....he had 2 of them the other day/night)
