Hey guys, I'm new to this site and I hope to become a regular haha, but for now, my latest problem. I started my truck after a few years of it sitting and it sounds great. For some reason though, it will not shut off. In other words when the key is in the off position, it is still running. I had to unplug the battery. Well I replaced the ignition itself, and that wasn't it haha. So I took apart the steering wheel and I can see that the rod is moving up to start the truck and does move back, but it won't shut off. Through reading alot on the internet I see that the most common thing is a little piece of metal in there at breaks and needs to be replaced. I am not sure where it is or how to get to it. Has any one else had this problem or anyone have any advise on how to fix it? I can't move my truck or I'd take it to someone. It's kind of an off road mess right now. Thank you in advance.

Does it still crank with it in the off position or does it just keep running?

It cranks and starts, then i turn the key to the off position and it is still running. If i turn it back "on" even though its still running, it gives the normal grind because its already running.
