So I bought my truck with low miles for cheap I was replacing dash lights and I went to start it when I got don the lights would all come no turn over no click no nothing so I opened the hood and broke the starter relay top off to see if that would work and it did fired right up like it should it’s a 2000 but I can’t figure what wire broke I’m meaning color because I know the truck had a lot of wiring thrown together by the old owner and I’m wondering which wire that goes from the ignition to relay under the hood and this is in the fuse box under the hood anyone want to help a feller out

You did what??? First, it sounds like you need to replace the starter relay that you broke.

The small wire to activate the starter relay is often a red wire with light blue stripe. But I'm not 100% sure of that for your year model. If you have a lot of hacked up wiring from previous owners, it would be good to get the EVTM or wiring diagram book for your model of truck. These are usually available on eBay.

I agree totally with @ericbphoto

We need pictures... it will same you a thousand typed words.

Don't worry about your Ranger hating you. They're not prejudice...they hate everyone... it's normal.

In fact, after battling with mine over the past few years, I got tired of all the surprises and installed one of these::

I try to keep it in the 25 or lower PSI range. Anything higher than that and you're f-ed.

So redline is above 25... got it!

It's FORD. Fookers Only Run Downhill. I have three, I know what I'm talkin about. LOL!! When my Mustangs transmission went out, we actually did push it downhill to get it to the rear of the flatbed.
