Ok well this build thread will start kinda small but grow in the next couple weeks, im planning alot.
first off i got my 1993 ranger stx for 400$ with a bad tranny. It has the 4.0, 4x4, 5 speed stick, Limited slip 8.8 rear end, 3.73 gears. its the perfect start for a new DD/weekend wheeler build. hopefully ill like it more than my last jeep
heres when i bought it, 400$ trailered it home.
heres the rust, cab corner was gone which i thought was wierd because thats usually a chevy thing...then i saw the other side cab corner was perfect so i got to thinking
looked to me like there was insulation in the drivers side corner which held moister because the computer was there and there was no insulation on the passanger side
then i took out the tranny....good damn it was a bitch! pardon my french but i am not to fond of ford engineering, have they ever heard of bolts? i mean shit everything was some sort of random ass clip that i didnt have a tool for

ok well now that the tranny is out i got a new one coming in the mail from a member here so i thought id fix that cab corner and rhino line from the body line down...here i started to cut it out then said f' it and just ripped it all out
a nice chunk that came off!
HOLY BONDO BATMAN!!!!
took off bondo that was about 3" thick, man i wanted to go back to the original owners house and knee him in the throat!
well anyways i started putting on some new metal..oh and if your wondering why its white? well i cut it out from my buddies s10 hood that he hasnt picked up from my garage, haha he had a laugh out of it.
Well i think you guys know how much of a PITA it is to weld body panels on without warping thin a$$ ranger metal so i let my drunk buddy give it a try lol he did pretty well
I thought this was a cool shot i got
ok heres the finished product, well the welding part anyways..now for the grinding.ugh no pics of that part cuz it just plain blows lol
i ended up with a few creases from bending the metal around the edges to match the corners right so i used the slide hammer and took them out...

heres the corner, had to cut bend and weld back to make it close enough to bondo out
ok skipping that stupid grinding part which was an absolute pain..heres me applying bondo
i know i should be using duraglass but i didnt want to this time because im using such a small amount and duraglass is a B*TCH to work with lol
it gets better lol this one looks all wavy and shit
ok now for the sanding which is a great work out for my skinny arms
almost done with that, smooth as a babies a$$
ooooooooooo looking sexayyy
that lip there on the bottom pissed me off for about an hour trying to hammer it perfectly stright with the rest of the rocker but i got it
well shit this next pic was outa place but o well look anyways! ha
ok then i started to rough the paint up for rhino liner, started by hand then said screw it and whiped out the big ol' mikita
um idk whyy this pic was here but ok its ninja jeff i guess lol he helps me work on truck all the time
ok well here it is all covered up

haha these next ones are cool..my neigbhor works in the minneapolis ranger plant, he makes rangers all day so he got me a bunch of parts to convert 93 over to a 09

even though my 93 is an stx im just gonna pretend its a Fx4 now haha
ok well here she is all done..for now! and this phone takes horrible pics its really not all shitty looking like the pic ill have to get a camera soon
well thats it for now anyways next week ill have my tranny in, just in time for snow! then i can finally put my rx7 away in the barn haha. then later next week ill order the PA 3" body lift and im gonna comb craigslist for some 33" tires and ill through up alotta pics for yall when im putting that stuff on
