so i have a 1987 ranger but my real baby is my 1963 ford fairlane 500 sports coupe. I had recently bought a gear vendors over drive unit for it and while it is in my dads shop we decieded winter is a good time to address some other issuses such as overheating when its hot out side suspension upgrades and a few other things....im already behind on posting pics so here is kinda how the first day went:
so this is a pic of some p.o.s. altertnator we had to jerry rig to get me to the shop because my regular one broke a mile away from my house at 730 in the morning....not exactlly how i wanted to start my day, but by 1pm i was finally at the shop....better late then never
my other ride getting ready and positioned on the lift
before we started to work on the gear vendors overdrive we pulled out my radiator to get it flow tested to see if this was the cause of my over heating problem....(came back clean
which means i must look else where for the culpret)
engine bay with no radiator
next i took off the water pump (which we had a hell of a time figuring out what it was from) i think i am going to buy a flow kooler brand water pump i guess they are supposed to flow 50% more water while the engine is below 2500rpm then goes normal after that
then after all that fun up she goes and the we start to do work for the new overdrive unit
its super late now...or i guess early (1218 am) so ill post more pics tomorrow enjoy.....
