My new truck!

I was. I started looking at it realistically and decided that I don't tow enough to warrant the Super Duty diesel, and the deals on the F-150's were to good. I really wanted a crew cab, but the price difference was so much that it wasn't worth it.

This truck has more power than the 2007 did. It looks like it's got 20 more horsepower and I forget what the torque improvement is.

Plus......I really like that blue! I feel like I'm driving TRS-1 when I look out over the hood.

The 5.4 went from 300hp to 320hp and 365 lb-ft to 390 lb-ft. The six speed really makes it feel more powerful too.

that blue looks awesome. very nice choice.

Nice truck Jim! I was going to metion the crew cab thing too, glad you didn't get the stanless cover for the tailgate thats the only thing I hate about the new ones. Did you lease this one too, 'cause if not a nice lift and tires would look sweet on there!!:icon_thumby:

I bought it.

I'm not going to sink a ton of $$ for a suspension kit.

I do want to level it though. Probably add a leveling spacer that goes above the strut. I can get one from Skyjacker for about $128.00. I have (2) Skyjacker 3-inch kits I bought for my 2004 (ended up with an extra one) but never used. They have a rear add a leaf, new front coil springs and struts. Skyjacker stopped producing that kit because the struts/shocks were known to leak. They were based on Skyjackers Big Gas shocks or whatever they were called that Skyjacker offered for a little while. I tried looking up info online about those old kits to see what I could find, but didn't find anything. I have those shocks on my '96 Ranger and have never had a problem with them. I'm tempted to stick them on to see how it works and if I have a problem then I'll just put the factory parts back on with a spacer. I already paid for the old 3-inch kit and it's never been used.

I want to add something to the front big enough to hold (2) chrome offroad lights to help me see on the back roads late at night.

Basically, it would just be minor upgrades here and there. I thought of a body lift after adding the leveling kit, but then I'd need new tires to fill the space. I may do that later when I'm ready to replace the tires.

As far as waiting until the warranty runs out, I'd have to wait until I hit 75,000 miles. The truck came with something like a 5-year 50,000 mile warranty and for $12 a month I extended it out to 75,000. I've had some less than good transmission experiences in the past.

I like the Raptor, but you have to order it and as far as I know there wasn't any incentives for people buying one. Plus, the good motor is the 6.2L and that won't be out until next year. Right now it has the same motor mine does.

Cool clean and simple. prolly DD anyhow I couldn't see you driving TRS-2 around much all the pics i've seen of it besides off road, it was being trailored.

Nice truck. Only drawback on the new F150's is that wing look on top of the tail gate...

That's one of my favorite accents.

This is what my truck would look like with a leveling kit, 3-inch body lift, and 35" tires

You gotta make it look like that Jim. That looks awesome.

I heard somewhere that they are already sold out.

Well, I did some more research today and found that anyone lifting 2.5 - 3 inches without changing anything else is having problems with ball joints. Sounds like the 2-inch spacer is the best way to go.

Auto Spring has this 2-inch spacer:

I read a lot of positive comments about the 2-inch kit.

$73.00 and free shipping.

You heard wrong. There are 2 within 50 miles of me. One sitting on a lot in Lexington KY. right now. Right around $46,000. No "A" plan. One on a lot in Louisville, KY is $43,000, "A" plan is $37,000. Sure is one bad ass truck!

I don't know why one dealer will honor the plan and one won't:dunno: go figure.
