My new system setup

so. got a new to me 2001 pt cruiser. and needed a system for it. so just wanted to share what i bought.

NOW. im going to be running the fronts off an amp, and the rears off my headunit. so heres the amp for the fronts.

And the stereo i already have and here it is. older model but does the job.

SO. All that. and some added quick roof (poor mans dynamat) to the doors and rear pillars and we should be bumping pretty good.

as i went to click continue check out. i get informed that the alpine type s are on backorder for a month.


i said screw it and got the boston acoustics s60 and a kenwood amp instead since the memphis would be overkill now.

i think it worked out better this way.

at this point. ive decided to run the phoenix gold rsd comps in the front.

re audio 5x7s in the rear.

and an re audio 4 channel amp at 50x4 rms.

sonic electronix is running a 20% off sale on all re audio products. its an awesome deal.

if i hadnt run the rsd comps in my last car and love them so much, id try the re audio comps for the price.

SO glad you went with RE audio instead of that other stuff. I to like the RSD comps. ran em in my custom doors last year. still ahve em sititng. here. i might have to look into that sale.

i have heard alot of goods things about re audio. for the price i figured id give em a shot.

and i think you recommended the rsd comps when i had my probe. i loved em even without an amp.

figure with that re amp. they should scream with a lil sound deadner.

i might have lol. i liked mine but i couldnt find another set so i went with AudioPipe components for my new door panels. i think imma use these RSDs i have tho in some bookshelf speakers in my room. LMK how you like that RE audio equipment.

How hard is it to take out and put back the interior carpet? I wanna use some sound deadening to tighten things and want to know what I'm getting into.

in my 93 was as easy as takin the seats out, the shifter knob off, and the door jams.

yeah its not that hard just time consuming.


but. all the stuff i ordered is coming tuesday. so wednesday it goes in.
