picked this 1990 2.9 bronco 2 up for 800.00, has 173.000 on it. might have a cracked head not sure.it does have a little water and smoke coming out the tail pipe, but no water on the dip stick or bubbles in the rad. trans shifts good,4x4 will not come on its the ele type not sure what is up there.also the roof leaks so the floor boards are wet. i have 600 to put into it right now, so what do you think should be done.(has new distributor cap and button, new plugs and wires. the water out of the tailpipe may just be condensation

See if the vapor smells like anti freeze or water and run it to see if it clears up.

The head liner really doesn't hold water out the roof is supposed to do that.

personally, i'd check everything... do a full over on it.
change all fluids. do a full tune up. fuel filter. everything.
make sure its running perfect before i spent money anywhere else.

after that, i'd be saving for 8.8/d35 swap. find a set w/ 3.73's or 4.10's.. if you don't plan on anything larger than 32" tires.

think about the cheap/free mods also....
trim fenders, open up room for larger tires.
cheap spray paint on rims, bumpers, whatever... a little fresh paint can go a long way.
check around for scrap metal..build some bumpers, sliders, whatever. lol

i really don't know what your overall plans for it are, but i'd make sure it ran right, then do a washer lift up front, add a leaf or shackles in the rear, trim fenders, 8.8/d35 swap, and 31's or 32's.

if you plan on larger, plan on suspension lifts and maybe a small body lift to.

edit: after looking at the pics of the b2.. go for the drive shaft update... get rid of that cv joint crap... it'll break, trust me...i broke 3 before upgrading to the u-joint sytle real shaft.
