Just seems odd to have a water storage tank that big for a house that size, and like Jim said theres no rain collection system so what good is it?

It looks to have promise but the realtor pitch does raise some alarm bells on the real condition of the house. At that price, it might be worth it to get it and gut it room by room.

Take a good look underneath for crumbling foundations. Feel for air around corners of the rooms. Make sure to walk over ALL the floor space.

I found all those problems here, mostly after buying..

I'm guessing the big black tank is for water, but the gutters don't connect to it. Does that mean these people have water trucked in? I'm not familiar with this setup.

That is definitely a septic tank. I just got a new mobile home and had one buried in my yard. @Dirtman knows his poop receptacles, if nothing else.

If the place has a well instead of supplied water then this is the storage container for proper pressure and availability during power outages.
