I have been keeping my eyes open for a tow rig for my ranger and it just happened that I found this on Craigslist right after a rod let go on my ranger.

SPECS
1993 F250
7.3L IDI non-turbo diesel
ZF5 manual transmission :headbang:
3.55 gears
CD player
Hitch
Electric trailer brake controller
Ghetto tint......soon to be deleted. :icon_welder:

It has 395,000 miles on it but looks like a truck with 150K on it.

I picked it up for $1200 and the DMV charged me for sales tax on $3000!!!

And since everyone likes some carnage, this is what happens when a rod lets go on a 4.0. :icon_welder:

I looked at a 2wd for more than that with more miles and body damage.

Atleast you only popped an oil pan, maybe the blocks salvagable? The ranger I drove while SAS'n Big Green blew a rod shortly after I sold it.....It's demise was caused by an idiot driver however, using mexican overdrive at 150km and grabbing 3rd instead of 5th....Dumbass.....

Nope, the block started to crack and if the engine had been spinning faster when it went, the hole would likely look exactly like that.

I could probably weld it and file the surface to get a nice smooth gasket surface but I am going to rebuild my parts motor instead. It has 195K on it but should be ok. It just needs a good going through.

I am picking up a HP D60 with 3.55 gears tomorrow for $150 that I am going to bolt into the F250 for now. :icon_hornsup::icon_welder:

luckly you didnt get an auto. throw that pos motor away n get a later year with a turbo. those non turbo 7.3's are shit. i had on just like yours and tried to put a turbo on it blew the fucker 3 times. tossed it and got the 7.3 turbo, loved the truck then sold it. :(

Well, you cant just go and slap a turbo on a N/A motor and expect it to work. These motors have pretty high compression ratios and as it is the stock turbos are only pushing 5-7psi on the IDI turbo motors. What were you running for boost?

...nice one for the price...what is a "ghetto tint" if I may ask???

Nice lookin rig, one problem though, that 60 is going in the wrong truck!
