My latest adventure with the "Donkey", lol!

Been wondering where you ran off to

LOL!! The panic has set in as end of May is drag racing opener and I've still got the car in pieces. On top of that, I've got a cataract in each eye now and am waiting for surgery dates. Trying to sell off the rangers and explorer to fund...well, not fund, wife won't let me have any more until I get rid of some, lol. Almost picked up a 93 ranger from out west (not from here in the rust belt) but wife freaked. Other stuff...I bought a milling machine and a metal lathe so I could build a big metal lathe to do up to 19" diameter stuff. Here's that video, I used a 7.5" fox body axle, LOL!

Working on the race car now, used the milling machine to make a new shift gate so I can only go 1-2 then 2-3 etc. Button in 1-2 then let go of the shifter button for 2-3, button back in to get neutral, etc

Alright, Racing season is over, the stocker mustang is up on stands. I sold the 06 ranger called "Boots" and am going to sell the donkey at some point so I can build something for the road/off road. There's been forest fires all around here for the last 2 months and currently one is burning about 6miles from my place but going the other way so we weren't evacuated. I have to install a AFR meter on my 86 mustang so I can tune it and then I can get back to the donkey...

All that to say, I think I'm going to go coil over struts on the front of the donkey when I get it in the garage. Wife has been complaining that we were banned from the woods almost all summer and she wants to do SOMETHING with the mud trucks. As seen in the last video, the front left spring keeps popping out because the plate is rusted off the spring perch. (the plate that has the single bolt sticking up from the axle) Anyway, I think I'll add to the actual build thread of the donkey, not here. Regardless, finally getting back to off roading after a 4x4less summer! LOL!

all you need is a washer.

and that is a classic ratchet strap situation. limit travel with a strap...and strap the coil to the beam...

even just some fat bastard heavy duty zip ties or bailing wire would have got ya through the day.

when ya drive junk like i do....you need straps...bailin wire....ductape and superduty zip ties.

steady as she goes...

If it was easy, anyone could do it!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Wife wanted a roll bar hoop...I built an exoskeleton...see how my mind thinks?? I'm thinking if I'm in it, might as well improve it or completely redesign it because what could ford engineers know that I don't?:ROFLMAO:

Just saw a bronco sport that was smashed put on auction near here for $16,000....thinking sell the drivetrain off and set it on a ranger frame, jack it up and add 35's....(this is why I have too many projects, lol!)
