You can fix that for about $30. All you need is the frame for the LCD screen. I recently replaced the one on my Dell Inspiron. Looks brand new now.
Give me the Brand/Model and I'll see if I can find the part for it.
Actually I'd estimate that as THREE major parts.
1) an LCD back cover (the screw pillar that the screw that the front bezel and the hinge mount to is busted off)
2) An LCD front bezel.
3)Switchpanel/Hinge cover
And two minor parts
the HINGES which are obviously galled and sticking or the plastic stuff wouldn't have broken in the first place
and though I can't see it in the pictures there are metal strips on either side of the LCD which are screwed to the hing and the one on the side of the messed up hinge is likely bent beyond easy straightening...
And it seems a few screws are missing.
All stuff you can get on ebay for $70 depending on how patient you want to be about buying and shipping.
It's often a better deal to look for a "dead cause unknown" organ donor
that is in cosmetically good shape to aquire other spares you'll eventually need...
Like THIS ONE:

$68 (+$13shipping) with ~9hours to go at the time I'm typing this reply...
Or THIS ONE:

$48 plus $16sh UNBID with 1day 19hr to go
there are others but you can look yourself.
I recommend an organ donor...
I did that when I got my (broken at aquisition) Dell1525.
the only problem I had with my "organ donor" dell was in
about 15minutes of fiddling I made the phucker work and I was promptly talked into selling it as a working computer and had to buy other replacement parts... (I came out ahead by ~$125 plus a factory new 320gb drive
lol, my parents for one. I'm helping them look for the same part right now for an Acer.
What model Acer? I have an Acer notebook that's cosmetically clean but
rather DEAD (something in the DC in circuitry (NOT the internal power cable, I tried that ))
