My goal setup, how much hp do you think it will make, and how fast?

i dont know...i might do a 5.0 swap:icon_confused: i was just looking for least down time on my truck, i was gonna buy a new head and work on it over time and was wanting the ending head to be what i listed. but i am still thinking that why i like talking with you guys...i could get 1000$ in 4 months of saving. i like the sound of a v8 or a 4 banger but id lose a lot of mpg

Grrrrr someone make this choice easy for me damnit:bawling:

For the record, I agree with 86 slo-vo, if you are going to stick with a 4 banger, you will want to start with the SVO motor right out of the box (As your NA 2.3 will not be able to handle much/anything). But this means you will need to swap your engine anyways.... so if you'd rather swap in a V-8, it would be an equal opportunity, and probably be a similar cost.

A boosted 4cylinder can/will be just as thirsty as a V-8 if you can't keep your foot out of it.

your truck being a 92, you have a large number of options...

You might want to consider having the port work done by someone that knows what they are doing. This is something that takes some skill and preferably a flow bench to get right. If you go in and just open up the ports and polish, you could end up with anything from a slight improvement to considerable less performance. Real gains are achieved by skilled shops.
