My First Real Surgery

Been there...done that...didn't get the surgery...but I didn't have a torn ACL...just the medial meniscus was flopping around...old martial arts injury...and all the guys that had the same surgery were toast afterwards...

I followed my chiropractors advice and skipped the surgery...and my knee hasn't given me too many problems since...it was swollen for about six weeks but I hobbled around and worked it out...and was back training within 8 weeks...won a championship the next year...well, a few, actually...but then I screwed up my back...now that is a career ending move!

Just make up a good story to tell the girls and get some sympathy attention.

He could tell the girls he is a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick survivor, the chicks will come running like a pack of starving dogs in heat.:headbang:

Write on the good leg wrong leg. I knew somebody that wore boxers into surgery that said "not my balls my left knee".

I have had tons of redhead girlfriends and local anestesia hardly works on them weather its dental or other. The doc's just keep hitting them with it and they still feel the pain. Something about most redheads that causes it but most doctors know about it, no wonder them gingers are so honory.:D

Well todays the day 12PM I get surgery, just got back from my meet so I'm going to get some sleep.

Good luck and have fun trying to keep track of time while in the recovering room in the hospital. I had my ACL replaced and after in my room I would blink my eyes and hours would have passed. Sadly after surgery I can no longer run and I wear my right shoe faster than the left because my walk changed. Oh and I can feel the weather change in my knee now.

So the day started with me getting into a gown, and getting my IV in, which was not bad at all, they gave me a shot it numbed my and and they stuck in. Then I had to get a nerve block, so they gave me some loopy drugs, and man was that something else! I was tripping out, pretty crazy. Then I said bye to my parents and we took of too the surgery room (which was like Antarctica). Then he put the stuff in my IV and out I went. Next thing I know I'm slowly waking up in recovery, still falling asleep multiple times. Finally I was able to get to a point where I could start trying to stand up, which I ended up barfing a few times and getting dizzy. I eventually got well enough where I could get in the wheelchair and go home. So as of now I'm in my bed hooked up to a cooling machine and a leg circulation machine. Man was I soooooo pale, I looked like I was dead, literally. And my legs still going to be numb for 3 days.
Anyways I got some pictures :D

Barfing and getting dizzy?? Yeah, I've always thought that hospital chow is better the second time around...mess hall chow, too. Now the fun starts, keep your mind busy and let the leg take care of itself.

Well they gave me a painkiller with just a bit of crackers in my stomach, that's probably what caused me barfing, being dizzy is because of the drugs. I'm feeling so much better this morning and donuts sound really good.

So my leg isn't in that bad of shape.

Get well soon, son-

Thanks, I've gotten past the hard part mostly, now I just have to sit with my leg propped up stretching it back out because it hasn't been straight in like 4 weeks.

Dude...don't be lookin at it so much...it impedes yor progress. What kinda therapy are you doing...alone or assisted? I made 3X progress once they sent me out to therapy...a good lookin' blonde who I couldn't say no to...she did things with my left rotator cuff that I didn't know was possible.
