My Explorer axle into '97 Ranger project

Your brake hose from the frame to axle is gonna be WAAYYYYY too short if you flex the axle out even a little bit. Thats gonna rip apart the minute the driverside tire starts to drop down. I would suggest useing 2 of the passengerside soft lines to conenct the calipers to hardlines and then run hardlines to the diff and use a ranger rear hose from the frame to the hardlines on the diff.

I use the brake hose also as a suspension limiting strap. I find that I can save weight by this little trick. Less weight=better performance.

Blackdog,

You have any pics of the e-brake setup? I've actually been updating our Explorer 8.8 page.

The e-brake is the only thing I can think of that isn't covered.

I can do that. Also, when are the tube winch bumpers for the 93-97 Rangers (the one thats on the TRS Fab & Off-Road front page) going to be available?

hey did you ever get pics of your e-brake setup? im trying to make mine work, i have explorer left and right cables, and it hooks up to my main cable find, but when i appl the parking brake, the left side bottoms out before the right side even really tensions at all..

i no longer have the ranger rear cables, so i cant do that nifty mod you posted from the jeep site.

that's a nice looking swap. If you made up the shock mounts please shoot me a price or post it here; I'm starting on a turbo T-bird swap and I want the disc brakes.

I'm still working on getting those shock mounts made. Were using a water jet so they should be pretty. .

I cut off all the Explorer brackets and added the Ranger ones. I used all new brackets.
