ok today it was raning so i got of work early. i went driving around finding puddles(by puddles i mean flooded roads) to play in. i was doing fine intill i found a hole parking lot under water. now just to let eveyone know i do this kind of stuff all the time with no problems. for some unknow reason instead of easing into the water i hit it at about 50 miles an hour. well i got half way though and my truck stoped dead. wel after doing two oil changes my little 2.9 is still knocking hard. so i guess i finally killed her. well atleast i have a reason to do the 4.0 swap now. i am ready for the bashing lol dam this sucks!!!

Crap, eh!

Sure you don't have a fish stuck in there somewhere???

Too bad if it is toast...but if you're already to go with the swap then it wouldn't be too bad...I hate when stuff like that happens and you're not quite ready for it to happen...

Hope it works out for you...

does my old 4x4 switch work well LOL:icon_rofl:

What a way to ruin a good motor.

I do the same thing from time to time with my Ranger, but only when we get enough rain to make it fun. A couple of years ago I used to take my Hyundai Excel and hit the puddles head on and when I felt it start to slow down I would let in the clutch, bounce it off the rev limiter, and drop it out in 1st to get the tires to "float" up over the water. I never really worried too much about sucking in water because a 1.5l Hyundai Excel engine is way too easy to acquire at the junkyard and just as easy to swap out. If I killed my Ranger doing something stupid like that I would definitely chock it up to stupidity, but then again I have a spare 4.0l laying around in the corner wasting space just so I can afford to be stupid from time to time.
