My Dogs are English Impaired

Got up this morning and went through my morning chores of letting the dogs outside and what not when it hit me. To my dogs back door to them means "go Potty", and front door means, "Go Bye Bye". These two phrases are about all my dogs care about lol, going "bye bye" on the top of this list. Got a chuckle out of it this morning and had to share. Some times my brain just likes to think of stupid things, lol but oh well. Any one else have a similar experiance with their pets?

my gf's family dog..you say WALK and she goes NUTS!! its hilarious. She also has one of those beehive-looking balls and she will play with that thing for hours, and gaurd it with her life, too. The funniest thing with pets, though, is scaring cats so they fly a few feet in the air doing backflips and watching dogs try to gain traction on hardwood floors

My wife has "Paris Hilton" chihuahua. This dog is so cool, say "hurt dog Lucy" and she will drag her hind legs like she got run over by a car. "Skittles" turns her into a barking, vicious, rabid attack dog. My Min Pin is the smartest dog I've ever owned, sits, lays down, stays on command (in the house). Let him out and he instantly goes deaf and dumb, must be a dog in heat somewhere.

I have shih-tzu that learns on spelling words. Like "treat", just spell it out and she'll know what it is. This also includes, "walk", "food", "potty", "stranger", and a few others. She also has a very acute hearing. For instance, when putting food in the microwave, she will not get up until she hears the door open again. just like the frige, treat bag, and the sound of her leash. She also learned who has the best chances of giving her food. And if she wants something, she'll stare at you and garl until you get up and she'll go to the place that she wants. Front door = walk, kennel = trear, back door = potty, barking + window or door = strange of weird noise, frige = food, cabinet = medic's, brings her dish to you = out of food or water (also when staring at the toilet or bath tub).

My dog is pretty obidient from command the only thing he doesnt obey is "bath".... he has a lil hound in him (half pit, half mutt) too so he talks back lol. Hell sit at the door and kinda moan when he has to go outside which is great b/c I dont have the attention span to take him out every few hours. Hes gettin kinda old though I need to figure out how in the hell he got this way b/c I never trained him for anything and I want every dog after him to be the same way.

hah I caught my dog, Rex, playing around in the tub while i was getting dressed after taking a shower. he loves the water. This is my lab/pit mix.

I also have a shepard/pit mix, A.O. He is insanely smart. senses my moods. If I get pissed off at something or a game or whatever, he will leave the room. He knows all the basic tricks and then some. I can point my finger like a gun and say "bang" and he lays down and rolls to his back and acts dead. He very good at keeping my backyard free of rodents. Within 6 months of living in my new house, in a 2 week period. AO caught and killed 3 possums. Haven't seen one since.

my dog loves to lay on the bathroom floor no the marble its nice and cold.. so we have now found it easier to just trap her in there when she needs a bath rather then trying to come into the bathroom to take one..

she loves swimming in our pond though..

she is sometimes really smart and will understand a lot, other times she has some major blond moments

My dog is like learjets dog. It has learned to spell. Mostly walk and treat. He also knows the corn bread bag. he wont leave the kitchen if I pull out the corn bread mix. When the buzzer goes off on the oven he is sitting in front of the oven and I have to move him out of the way. One day he is going to burn his nose.

My brother in law had a Weimaraner that only understood German. He got him when he was stationed in Germany. Livered there for 16 years. When he moved back to the states somebody stole him from the back yard. They probably think that dog is stupid.

sounds: cabinet opening for either "treats" or "walk"

verbal commands: walk, shake (in which she stands up on her back feet shakes your hand), and depending on if she is excited in the morning when she wakes up "good morning" will make her make this funny growl/bark its hilarious.

visual commands: snapping of fingers and pointing at the ground she will sit, holding hand out(depending if you are kneeling or standing up she will shake your hand)

Ya dogs are awesome, Some will be smart as can be but others are just strange. My grandfather had a cocker that he trained to count and do math, He would take a handful of treats and lay them out on the floor in a line, He would then tell the dog to take so many and she would, then he trained her to add up Like take 2+3 and she would take 5. But then if I ever have kids my parents Pit mix will be a great dog to have around, If anybody is in the pool by themselfs or if you are splashing around or go under water for to long he goes ape shit and everybody knows something is wrong. But lets just say he is also a pain to have if you and your girl are having a good time in the pool late at night.
