my d30 sas

my XJ is just fine so is my buddy running 33"s on his no problems.

as for the OP get a HP D44 from a early bronco or jeep wagoneer. the D30 is stronger than the stupid D35 IFS crap in the front of rangers. even with 4.88s in mine i have not broken anything on my D30 LP. however i went through stacks of crap on D35 IFS.

would go for a coil over vs leafs but thats just me. it would not be that much more difficult especially working in a junkyard and having access to everything.

Ha. The D30 is definitely weaker than the D35 found on 93-97 TTB equipped Rangers. Hands down.

If you are saying that the D30 is weaker than the TTB D35, then you are ALSO saying that the D44 TTB is the same strength as a D30. Which we all know as false because:

the D35 TTB = D44 TTB (in terms of strength) and there is no way in hell the D30 is as strong as a D44 which is under heavier, torqueyer fullsize pickup trucks (the F150). Sorry I don't believe you. :thefinger: Cheers!

well i'm gonna find out first hand if the d30 will hold up under a 4.0 powered b2.. on 33's. for a dd/rock/mud/trail/whatever i wanna make it do within reason rig

Ive seen vids of a guy on here who did a D30 swap to his truck and it has a 4.0 and he beat the hell out of it mudding and trail driving and I think it was all on 33's too. And he had a D35 in the truck previously too, says it made his truck more capible to do offroading with. Since then he has done a D44 FW swap but never broke a thing on his D30 that he had.

i think it just depends on the person. i think a lot of people just look at inch size of the r&p and think that its stronger... the d30 is a good axle for its size as long as you don't ask to much of it... :icon_thumby:

Samer here, D30 easily suits my needs, no plans on jumping it or anything crazy. i also like the simplicity of it, like changing a wheel bearing, took me 25 min to do for my first time.

I will say the D30 isnt for all application, choose your axle for what type of offroading you plan on doing.

got it all done, pics are in my album

well i lied, i'm going to a d35 ttb, for ease and its a cheaper swap

how much did the swap end up costing you, if you don't mind.

Got more pics of it?
Please give us more details, ride height?
ride comfort?

Seeing that its using ranger shocks, it won't have much flex to it since they are ttb shocks. But other then that looks great but I do agree, need more pics and details.

Shocks aren't gonna make a difference at all unless its there *length* or lack of that you are referring to. Internal valving won't matter, that's generally more or less the same for most shocks for all applications (think why the heavier trucks run duals and triples.....) There isn't a difference bewteen TTB and SA shocks for example.

Agreed, more pics please :bawling:

That's what I was meaning, not enough length to them for flexing or suspension travel.
