I need some help with my truck. I have a 94 ford ranger xlt 4.0L 4x4 with a bad cam sensor. i have done alot of research on my truck on how to replace the sensor. The problem im having is the sensor isnt carried in stores anymore(I've tried 6 different types of parts stores) and i have tried even the dealers near me with no luck. Not ebay carries it and i dont trust junkyards with electronic parts. I even looked at explorers also and came up with nothing. I really like this truck otherwise i wouldnt go through the trouble with it.

anyone got any idea's on how to replace this or as had this problem?

If that's the sensor that goes in the back of the block where a distributor would normally go, I replaced mine from a junkyard. Just took the two screws out and pulled the sensor off. Cleared my code right up.

I have the whole spindle and sensor (still brand new) from a 2000 ranger with the 4.0... Total long shot, but if its the same part I'd sell it to you for $30 shipped to your door.

The 2000 CMP has 2 wires (power & signal to PCM), the 94 has 3 (power, ground and signal to PCM).

Completely different parts, but the same function.

I could swear I just got one of those for a customer from Napa not 3 months ago.

Have you checked rockauto.com?
