My Bronco 2

just went through your whole thread, looks great. id like to do a 4.0 swap on my 89 BII too but all i hear about from the 4.0s is about their shitty gas mileage and the 20+mpgs of my 2.9 rocks

my 4.0 got about 19 in town when the motor was fresh...
at the same time i got 26 on my first road trip. but now the b2 is running rich... idk why.. my 2.9 was ticking, smoking, leaking, and getting 12 mpgs... so..... yeah it was time for a change.

right now i get 17 in town and 19-20 on the interstate (cruise at 70)

guys... TRS has an arcade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! snake, chopper challenge, tetris, astroids.. its awesome. look up on the bar by the user cp, classified, ARCADE, faq's.. and so on!

oh and the bumper build is still in progress. he had to get some more measurements from me today. but its going down. hopefullly pick it up the 22nd, as i'm off work that day.

Snow in Mississippi

people in MS don't know how to drive in snow.. maybe i'll get my strap and make some money, try to fund a winch tonight and tomorrow! lol.

its so pretty tho... we don't get snow like this here. they say 6-8 inches by tomorrow.. we might have an inch so far. that pic posted above was when it just started. i'll get some pics tomorrow to see how much really falls.

The night the snow started

just an added bit of tech: just thought about this b/c of a different thread we are talking on.. when installing an explorer driveshaft(shortened of course) in a b2 to upgrade from the cv joint style.. to make it bolt up you can install a front flange on the rear of the shaft, that'll make it fit the 7.5-- at least it worked on mine.

light bar sold

it looks naked to me.. but i kinda like the simplicity of it...

anyways. the metal master that's building my bumper has ran into some tool breakage.. so still no bumper, but selling the light bar is helping the winch fund.

what size tars u running on that thing? btw hows that bumper comming along?

245/70r16's right now which is a 30x9.5ish.. plan after the axle swaps will be 33's or 35's...

sweet, after this weekend im gonna have 4-4.5" with 30's. least i know it wont look retarded until i get some 33's or 35's...o yea the real mods are comming lol:thefinger:

finally lol. yeah i have about 4.5 inches of lift i think.. i really don't have an exact measurement of a stock b2 lol. but yeah it doesn't fill the wheelwell enough, but its not bad..

but 30's wont look right when i do the d30 swap (if i go that route, nothing is set in stone yet) b/c i'll end up with a few more inches of lift.

the 8.8 is being built!! *insert happy dance* lol.. my dad is bored at work since there is no trucks in the body shop. so he started building my axle! he took everything to work and its on jackstands with the pinion stuff in, he has inserted the ring gear and checking the pattern with grease right now.

so, i'm trying to compile a list of stuff for myself here, what better place to do it than here... the front bumper and 8.8 are in the works

so by the end of summer... if money allows
1. some way to lift the rear, taking out the add a leaf's.. thinking of using some 1st gen yota leafs bastard packed to my main leaf, the yota's have more arch to them.
2. removable roof rack, plug on lighting. gonna use explorer luggage rack rails and make it to where my roof rack will slide on or off, and use some type of harness plug for the wiring.
3. rear bumper with swing out tire mount
4. liftgate with opening window
5. d30 swap- this is probably next on the list. this is gonna include a d30 geared, aussie locked, sleeved tie rods with ZJ TRE's, xj coils..
6. a sub box like a buddy of mine has... looks like this
IMG_1746.jpg

it'll hold 1 10" sub and my 2 amps hidden.. mounted to the floor so it wont move
i think that will cover this summer.. then when money allows some 33's or 35's

so i've got in various places(meaning i aint picked it up yet) piles of parts for the d30 swap from MSJ guys
i've got a housing, carrier, 2 or 3 different sets of coil springs, coil spring spacers, shocks, and whatever else one guy has that i can use.. these guys are like my family sometimes. i need to go start picking stuff up.
i still need to find gears, locker, axle shafts, brakes(probably buy new), long arms, steering.
the long arms i'll probably make with JJ's on the frame end.. the steering is probably gonna be WJ pass side knuckle and 1 ton TRE's.. idk about that yet. i gotta look into it. i might just do ZJ TRE's and sleeve stock steering rod.
then comes swap parts- trac bar and mount and other stuff like that.
