my awesome exhaust!

that bend looks kinda factory to me.. I think the reason you're lacking power is 'cause you've for a 2.8 under the hood! ;P
I'd shake down every other system before messing with exhaust on an otherwise stock motor... (read: Do a tune-up and see where your power is at)

that bend is supposed to be there. it clearanced the front drive shaft before the lift.

seriously, its a 2.8...your not going to be winning any 1/4 mile drags with 115 horsepower.

what gearing do you have with your 31's? that'd be a more likely cause of gutlessness then exhaust.

3.73's, thats the problem.

oops, missed that the first time around.

3.73's are not ideal for 31's. some 4.10's would make a world of difference.

iam running 3.73s with 31s in my ranger an i have no problems.. if those gears/tire size arent right why did ford use that set up on stock rangers?

well, the metric equiv 265/75/15.

just because ford did it doesnt mean its right, or a good idea. look at the pinto. 3.73's are too tall for 31's with most motors...but especially the low output ones like the 2.8.

They didn't on the 110 hp 2.8 trucks, they had either 205 or 215 tires on them stock which are alot smaller than either 265's or 31's.

i have 3.45s and 33s on my bII with a 2.9L. Its pretty slow, but not much more than stock.

So i suppose my 78 defies all laws of motion when i can do 85+ in it with 3.55 gears and 31's.........

How does that defy anything? It has a 400v8, gearing starts to matter less and less when you have more power/torque. Try driving a 2.8 of 2.9 with 31s and 3.55s, 5th gear is off limits.
As an example, Richard Madsons Cummins powered f350 runs 37 inch tires with only 3.55 gears, yet it runs the 1/4 mile in the 10s, why? Because it has 1000hp and somewhere nearly 2000 Ft/lbs.

lol you people are funny.

"but MY truck doesn't have a problem!!"

Does YOUR truck have only 115hp at the crank?

Ponder on that for a while.

i was just being an arrogant ass for a moment. It wasnt a real good day when i posted that, and i have a tendency to lash out. I mean REALLY, do you think im THAT stupid?

Edelbrock headers and y-pipe are your friends....
