My audio upgrades

The sundown sa line needs more power then what your giving it. Save a little money and get a the next step down(cant remember what its called). It will take that amp all day.

My box is tune to 35 Hz with a nice flat response. I am going to see if I can find a Sun Down amp of some nature. Only problem is that my amp is recessed into the box and will be bed lined. I will post pics once I am ready to install everything.

Where the heck did you find them?:icon_confused:

My subs and amps are American Bass!:icon_thumby:

I did not realize they were still available.

As you stated they are a superior product.:headbang:

I found them at my local flea market, $65. My buddy over at Trend Setter Audio (he is also building my box for me, I bought my sa8 from him as well.) said he might be able to get me a set for less than that. :icon_thumby:

That would be SD-2 series. Had to go to the Sun Down site for another thread. :icon_thumby:

Just ordered a Sundown SA8 v2 and re-cone kit. :yahoo: If I like it enough I will order another one and double up. That will require a better amp too. :icon_hornsup: I forgot how expensive this can be.

I'm sure youll love it. I have a single 10 and it gives the back of my cab some serious flex with 1000 on it.

You don't have to "overpower" a sub to get more volume. Just adding the second (minding your ohm load on the sub is correct) you will increase efficiency and get more volume without using a larger amp. Volume is all about surface area. Increasing power will allow the sub to increase excursion, but doubling the surface area will give you a greater benefit than another couple hundred watts.

Well a buddy of mine does car audio competitions so I am going to try my hand at it to see how well I do. I wonder if Jim would make a dB banner for us car audio guys? :dunno: :icon_confused: :icon_idea:

Well it is installed.

The structure of this post, seven words;

Followed by another seven words, to boot.

Then comes the change, he's right at eight.

Once again, the sentence has a brother twin.

thats impressive. ive always wanted to meter my 12"s but idk anyone with a meter :( but i was doing a show for my buddys and the tin on a barn about 75 or so feet away was rattling. ide like to say im over 150 but idk.

Passenger side wind shield. That is with 1 door closed and window up and the other door open.

Is that sealed up on the window or just holding the mic there?
