My 91 Ranger the stRanger

Well I convinced hahnsb2 with some $$$ to sell me his duff lift he has had sitting around for like 2 years! Yes I know I keep changing my mind and my wallet keeps getting smaller lol

well when are you going to put that lift in punk...now that you convinced hahns to sell it, i tried getting it from him along time ago....lol

but hey the ranger looks good, do you still have that video of you doing a burn out on my motherboard?

I'm going to agree with the others. Not big on older rangers, but I would own this one. Sharp. Pretty good build so far.

I will put the lift in as soon as hahn tells me how much shipping will be and sends it to me lol. No I never had the video it was either jim of hahn that had it

Thanks a lot man! It seems like both our builds are kind of going the same direction.

pmed, and yes they are for sale

Well I am itching to work on my truck but I can't right now lol so I am going to write some stuff on here to try and cure the itch.

Basically as of right now I am waiting to install the following parts:

-exploder 8.8 (waiting on 4.56 gear/detroit locker install, my guy is taking his time but im in no hurry)
-front D35 pig with 4.56s
-duff 3'' lift on the front
-drop pitman arm
-extended radius arms and tranny cross member
-rear 2'' AAL
-c clip elimination (no front locker. I really want one but I have already spent more than planned on the rear axle and the lift, I know I will kick myself when I want one when I wheel it and regret not doing it when I had the diff out...)

I am debating on getting duff shocks right now since I am getting a duff lift. But I was also thinking on cutting off my front OEM shock mounts, putting some f-250 mounts in and getting bilstein shocks. Definitely going to think this over some more.

My goal is to install all the front components in 2 days. I have access to a lift which is awesome and should make the front and rear end work fairly easy. The stuff that will take the longest is freeing bolts and removing rivets which im not looking forward to...

After I get the lift and axles installed and squared away I will be getting 33x10.50 bfg km2s. Next I really want to make a rear tire carrier. I have a friend here with a welder and a plasma cutter. I am debating between a swing out design off the rear bumper or a entire fabricated tailgate that holds it either prerunner style or vertical like a tire gate VT model http://www.tiregate.com/vt_series_0.shtml

Once I get the spare out of my bed I will look into modding the front bumper for a bit of beef on the corners, extending the center for a winch, and adding a small hoop/stinger with some light mounts.
Some other distant plans I have in the back of my mind are rock sliders, vinyl floor, and half doors or tube doors, CB radio setup, bucket seats and center console.

I can't wait. My goal is to take my truck across the western half of the country. I want to go to Moab, through Grand Teton NP, Yellowstone NP, Glacier NP, Yosemite NP, the Rubicon, and Naches trail in WA. I know I couldn't do it all in one trip but those are all places I want to hit in my truck camping along the way.

where did you get the clear corners?
ive looked everywhere and cant find those damn things
yes ive tried Ebay and LMC

just as a heads up, if you have access to a plasma cutter when your removing all the stock rivits..use it...i pulled all the brackets and coil buckets in about 30 minutes the other day makes quick work of them

Yeah the only problem is the auto skills shop on base with the lift is about and hour away from where my buddy with the plasma cutter is

Well I figured I'd update this thing a little. My axle is still getting finished up. I suppose waiting so long for it is the price I pay for cheap labor, and the guy setting it up juts does this as a side job out of his garage. Plus hes been traveling for his job and its been hot as fawk! I don't blame him for taking his time on it lol. Hopefully in the next week I will have it back and be able to start breaking in the gears and the Detroit.

I now have in my possession a james duff 3'' lift, and extended radius arms and tranny x-member. They are painted primer right now so I'll take some pics once they get some color. I still need to get extended brake lines, hardware, and bushings for the axle pivots and rad arms then I should be good to go and throw all this stuff on.

Hopefully I'll make some progress soon...:dunno:

Nice man, small world though, do you work with David Gabe? Big Red aka 220? Worked with him for a few years in Germany, still keep in touch alot too, great friend of mine:)

Anyway, I'm going to be right behind you on my build, mine will need paint when I'm done though, and I'm probably going to run my exhuast under the frame but out at the same area as yours, it's open headers now, but I need a tranny before I can do the exhaust...

Truck looks good, will be watching this and very well may copy your copied front bumper as well;-)

I just picked up a 6 inch superlift for the front for 100 bucks though;-) Sot that's the route i"m going on lift:) Just need the dropped pitman arm but it has everythign else:)

Later.

Trevor
Call sign is Speedo btw.

sounds like its going to be a nice setup
thanks

thanks,

Find it hard to belive that you don't work with TSgt Gabe, he's C130J model Crew Chief at Little Rock AFB and I'm pretty sure from when I went through it's not that big of a base;-)

Anyway if you don't recognize it dont' worry, he just got back from your rotation to Iraq and hasn't been back long. I was active duty from 97-09 and in November of last year I switched to Reserves and am here down at Patrick AFB in Fl

Enjoy the time with it and the build, but man your lucky having an ORV park right there, makes me miss Colorado
