Yes I shed a tear for her everyday... :(

Not to worry, a little over a month and I'll be back in the saddle again with her, and its coming with me this time!

Oh and BTW hahn not sure if you remember but last I talked to you the truck wasnt running. Kieth figured out its a dud battery and wont hold a charge for long, the alternator is good just bad battery.

But I am going to be doing a lot of work on it when I am home to get it ready for my big ass road trip.

-get new battery
-change engine oil/filter, air filter, maybe tranny fluid
-see if we can stop that slow oil leak around the valve covers
-add in those polyurethane bushings I bought last year lol
-maybe 1 piece drive shaft,
-see if I can figure out why my cruise control mysteriously stopped working
-get new speakers
-get GPS
-rotate tires
-purchase full size spare
-get a new hi-lift, tow strap, and truck box for the back
-find 2 bucket seats, and center console with cup holders
-If I have time, would love to modify my front bumper and add a winch and stinger

But yeah basically a tune up and add some stuff to the rig.

Anyone have anything that might be good to do before embarking on a 2,300 mile road trip?

EDIT: also going to be putting in a new thermostat and installing a seperate water temp gauge

Glad Keith got it figured out!
How long you back for? That's a lotta work!

We should add on to your bumper with Danny's new bender, I'm thinking stinger/headlight guards! He should also have that TIG/Plasma soon too..

Well if I get my recruiters assistance leave thats like 10-12 days right there, then on top of that I will get at least ten days to move, granted some of that time is driving time.

Yeah there is a lot of work that I want to do, but only some of it NEEDS to be done. The stuff I need to do first is obviously the engine stuff. Then spend like a day at the junk yards looking for seats, center console, drive shaft...

On the bumper I would love have kinda like a center stinger and coming off that on each side a bar to protect the head lights. One guy on here had one I really liked but I couldn't find a pic of it. Also maybe cutting in a hitch receiver then If I want I could just get a hitch winch.

You should post up some pics of his tubing bender and his new stuff hes building, I have only seen crappy cell phone pics!

Oh and if you guys get bored fabbing bumpers lol you should see if you could build one of these:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Bumpers-...t-Kit.aspx?t_c=64&t_s=351&t_pt=3902&t_pl=2031

But yeah if you guys get any parts rigs or you see something I might want you should let me know, and I can send you some $$$ to hold onto that stuff lol

Here's the only pic I have, our first time messing around with the bender, it works great, the hydraulic ram setup works great too..

Yeah that looks really good. Are you going to be putting a stinger on your bronco?

I also just thought I should get new lug nuts to replace my old ones and actually get some nuts that fit the wheels better.

I just keep adding shit on the list lol. I can't wait to get back home and work on my tuck. Oh and I heard today that I get 15 days to move so thats even better. All my stuffs packed so I won't have to waste time on that.

So tempted to just start ordering parts to the house lol. Must resist....

Hey you know how much a drive shaft would cost to get made?

Well probably nothing nothing exciting to you guys but my step dad was kind enough to give my truck a bath, return my dud battery (apparently it was still under warranty), and change my oil and filter!! I guess being retired is nice lol

This just takes a couple things off my list.

Also today I finally broke and started buying parts lol. I ordered new headlights (old ones were soggy, yellow, and dull) and clear corners! I am looking into changing my dash instrument lights to LEDs also, just trying to figure out what ones I need to buy.

Well thats all of an update I have for now, sorry no pics and it wasn't much of an update...

nice truck!!!
looks really cool man
great work!!
Thanks man. I can't wait to get home in a month and get to drive it/work on it/ thrash it again lol. I need to stop buying parts for it off the internet lol.

We just went up in the snow again today, it's a lot higher up now but we managed to get into 3ft before turning around and of course Danny got stuck and his goddamn jeep never has any recovery points so that was fun  And we did some shooting at the gravel pit, the good 'ol .17 was like a laser at 200 yards. What day are you comin' back?

I just found this pic on my computer, probably the best pic of your truck, with St Helens in the background.
