My 91 Exploder

Thanks for the link. I think I've gotten some parts from them before. I wheel with a guy that lives in Mills River, NC (right below Asheville)

I also talked with D.D. Machine today.....
Might have some new pix of my own to put up soon.

Cool deal. Get you a doubler kit? The machine work on them is super nice. Cant wait to get mine together.

Alrighty. Thanks for the heads up. Sounds easy enough.

You can get the 1 ton TRE stuff from a local vendor near me East Coast Gear Supply. They have them super cheap. Cheapest anywhere.

They have a kit with DOM or by it seperately.

hurry up and get this shit installed man!! :icon_thumby:

I'll answer this for you. Technically it's not a JD trac bar mount. It's a ThatGuy trac bar mount.

I built it for him. Yeah I was at the JD shop and I used their welders and shit to do it but it's my design. I took my trac bar mount off and built a jig from it and then used that jig to build Trevor his copy. I offered it to JD to use but the word is still out on it right now. I have spoken with Suzy about putting the trac bar mount into production several times but to be honest, the Duff shop is seriously backed up right now.

Is JD still waiting on your test results or they putting your design on hold for a different design?

I also just learned that JD changed their buckets a little bit from the design I have. Seems they took a tab off the front side on the frame part. On the trac bar mount you will need to put a washer or two between the front hole and frame. Once you get your buckets, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Why did they change the design?

Answered in the post you quoted.

They have only 2 production people so it takes time for them to do anything. The shop is filled with Ted Nugent's Bronco right now so it will have to get done and gone before they can start making parts again. If you know how to weld give em a visit and they may put you to work then things can start rolling again.

Why did they change the design?

From what I understand, the price of the laser cut pieces was about a $3 difference per side because of a 1 1/2" square tab. They deleted the tab (that done nothing anyway ) to cut down on costs. The passenger side didn't have it but for some reason the driver side did. Now the buckets are a mirror image of eash other. They are made out of 1/4" steel so Trevor will need a washer or two to make up that 1/4" difference. If I had known when I made his, I would have welded a spacer in there so he wouldn't know the difference.

Gave the UPS man a workout today. Couple of these boxes are pretty heavy.

Hey I think UPS sent those boxes to the wrong place........lol.... JK :icon_rofl:

Those are some nice looking parts you got there Trevor. Hey a couple more questions for you.

What size or brand pitman arm are you going to use?

Which radius arms are you using? Are those for the early Bronco or are they the ones for the fullsize (78-79)Bronco. Any difference besides length of arms.

Are you going to post measurements on how far parts and where parts are being bolted at?

How far are you going to move your front axle?

Sorry for all the questions just trying to get this all out there to help others if they want to go this route in SAS.

I have a standard drop pitman arm and a stock one. Going to use whichever one gets the drag link and track bar closest to the same angle.

The radius arms are #5351 for the fullsize. Difference from the fullsize and the eb is the mounts on the frame. Arms themselves are the same.

Ill be sure to get plenty of pics when I do the swap.

Thanks for the info and I can't wait to see the work in progress.:icon_welder:
