my '78 F350

As you wished here are some update pics finally shot the black primer on the new bed so i will be able to put it on tomorow. Also laid out the holes for the tow boom so i will have a hidden repo setup basically. More pics when shes on

Oh ya had to play tow truck for a buddy of mine that wrecks cars out. No standard tow trucks can fetch cars outta farmers property without renting equip to drag it to the road. So he filled my tank and a benjamin later i pulled 6 rigs to the road for him. 1 dodge 4 chevy trucks without axles and a datsun car. Funny thing was there was a chev blazer with 35 boggs and a built 396 and couldnt budge em an inch. I hooked up and in 4hi 1st gear didnt slip a tire and made their jaw drop lol. Btw im runnin a 460 4spd 205 60 front 70 rear and 3.73 gearing! Heres the only pic i could snatch

Well turns out the bed is an earlyer bed than the guy told me. Bed mounting holes are in diff locations and are about 3" Narrower. To top it off im going to have to run a 1 1/2" BL to clear my rear gas tank and i got to fab my own mounts. Ugh oh well atleast i have a decent bed again

Threw a couple pieces of 1 1/2 scrap in there to figure how minimal of a bl i can go with.

I'm interested in the towing setup you got there, how'd you rig the boom up and such?

Ill get you some better pictures of the boom setup tomorrow. So i been activated again to my offroad recovery side buisness. Seems i got 2 Deuces in a field need brought to the road. Gonna really try out the ol girl and see if she can bring a miracle lol. Ill def get a couple pics of that madness.

Wish me luck, ill need it....

pullin out dueces....i watched a deuce snatch a 96 f250 on 38s in half tryign to get it out of a mud bog both trucks got ass behind em

Well, how'd she turn out?

yea really this seems like itd be interesting.. if you snap an axle just convince them to give u the rockwells from the dueces

man i love this truck

im also wondering how it turned out! again, i love this truck

Well to sum it all up i use these :icon_thumby: :badidea: :pissedoff:

I use those because yes :icon_thumby: I got the first one out which was a 1950 2wd deuce that had more steel than the other. Got it in 1 pull didnt even have to try.

And :badidea: Cause they are way bigger than i built my tow setup for. I designed it for jeeps PERIOD.

And :pissedoff: Cause i
1. dented my cherry tailgate.
2. tore off my tow points
3. Crushed my rear upper boom mount into A factory crossmember, My beefy C channel crossmember, And into my rear gas tank puncturing it.:bawling:
4. Front DL slipped out and spun my splines on the end

All in all, yes, i did have a fun time. How often do you get to push your rig to its limits to see what you really have?? Yes i kinda regret it but i also found some good weak points that i will fix and upgrade. Shes getting tore down as we speak ill get a update pic every now and then.

Without further adoo here is a vid of me finishing off my rig. Its via facebook ill get it on photobucket later. And a couple pics. The trucks where a 1930ish international deuce and a '50 somthin.

My was then cherry tailgate showin my lower bumper lift hooked up.

The 2 trucks as they sat. Cant tell in pic but they where on a good downhill grade

There i sat as i had now 2wd and all broken.

thats because jeeps are just awsome vehicles they can tow what 3/4 tons cant theyre the best mudders and rock crawlers plus they are sooooo reliable... i feel dirty after saying that...

Put a F250 up with a Wrangler and see who can tow more.....

A jeep is a pile of shit out of the box, unless you drop 35 grand for a rubicon.

put a sami and a jeep in the same mud pit with the same mods, see who comes out.

Sorry Kris, but you're information is incorrect. You are basing statements on opinion, not fact.

i was trying to be sarcastic lol jeep is shit i hate them i guess it doesnt come across that way typed haha and i do have a lwb sammi and it stomps jeeps :yahoo: in fact last fall i ran it in the local bog and they didnt wanna run a 33" and under class (im on 33s) so i entered it in the 33-38" class and took 4th outta 12 trucks and 90% of them were on 38s and all had v8s :icon_twisted:
