My $3,500 Jaguar - The 'Mad Jag'

But they actually had a substantial following.

The only guy i know with a jag lives in Texas. I don't remember the last time I saw one in real life.

So... ask him how he feels about it.

They have a rich history and following... be it smallish... but there is a bunch of outrage.

If you're trying to rebuild your brand the far fringe isn't where you should look to expand.

Jaguar has lost their mind and have upset a lot of people.

look for the new Jag commercial.......
I can't believe you made me do that. I want that time back.

Apparently, their marketing division doesn't know that they build and sell cars. Not one car in that commercial. Nothing relating to a car. I don't think they even mentioned the words "car" or "automobile ". That commercial didn't try to sell me anything.

And it was really, really weird.

yeah that was weird. really weird.

My 60 year old co worker just bought a Jaguar F Type.
He wanted a new truck since his just got totaled, but couldn’t afford one that wasn’t beat to shit.

He said he thinks it’ll help him pick up women.

This commercial does not speak to that demographic.

Part of that is that the new models haven’t even made it to prototype yet from what I’ve heard so they don’t have a car to show.

I’ve also been hearing that they’ve announced that they are no longer going to produce gas powered cars and everything is now going to be electric… which seems like an absolutely terrible idea considering they’ve been quite notorious for their bad electrical systems…

I looked at one before ending up settling on my BMW. It was pretty cool - black car/black rims with a little bit of red accent. Car just didn't do it for me in the end, felt underpowered for its weight

Last Sunday I was in traffic next to a Lamborghini. I've seen a few of them. I see cars here that I'd never see back in Ohio. Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls Royce, etc.

I can find a bunch of Jags and BMW's on facebook marketplace.

Heck, I saw this Rolls Royce on there for $3,500 and was thinking how cool it would be to LS swap one and build a hotrod out of it.

Slam it to the ground and throw an LS with a choppy cam

I have had similar thoughts with a Discovery. Fun fact, it is also within a inch of a TTB Explorer Sport wheelbase to get everybody mad... :stirthepot:

If it's running and in good condition, the Rolls-Royce V-8 is bulletproof, so I'd keep it if it's good. Back in the 1950s, the company put its prototype V-8 engines through serious torture testing far surpassing GM's or Ford's tests.

I also keep hearing claims that certain Chevrolet parts such as the water pump for older Chevrolet small-blocks will interchange on the R-R V-8 because R-R started with the Chevrolet design and greatly modified it. R-R denies this.

Everyone talking about Jag, we'll see if they can actually sell whatever they make in the next few years. I've always liked the old 50's Jaguars

So, I guess Jag was getting too much push back from a ridiculous commercial with no car, so now they have added a car, which they have labeled as a “Type 00” but when they were asked for details, they admitted that the “Type 00” is not, and will not be a production car. Essentially, the car they’re putting in the new ads has never and will never really leave the drawing board…

I’m suspecting what we are witnessing is Jag circling the bowl on its way down the drain…
