i acquired a set 17 inch mustang bullitt wheels for my 93 ranger project. i know i will need to run wheel spacers in order for the center caps to fit on the front. what size spacer would i need?

They made two variants of Bullits, one in the 99-04 bodystyle and one in the 05-08 bodystyle. I think the wheels are different. Might research off the bodystyles.

Good luck :icon_thumby:

Most guys run 7/16ths spacer. Longer lug studs, or acorn style lugnuts that grab more thread are a really good idea.

Are they the same between the two generations?

the wheels i have are the 99-04 style. the 05 & up wheels share the same bolt pattern not sure back spacing

Here's my 2¢, take it for what it is worth:

'98-'11 Ranger wheel's have back space of 0-12mm depending on exactly which rims you have. Narrower rims have less backspacing - Ford was more concerned with keeping tire inside body work than anything else.

'99-'04 Mustang rims have 20-30mm backspacing again depending on exactly which rims you have. 20-12= 8mm ~ 5/16", but that has spindle cap right up against wheel cover (any mfg tolerances and your wheel covers won't stay on..), so the common spacer is 7/16".

'05-'08 Mustang have 39-50mm backspacing again depending on exactly which rims you have. So, with these rims, you would want to run adapter rather than spacers (39-12=27mm, over an inch).

I personally run 1" adapters on my Ranger with '95 Cobra rims (30mm backspacing) <245/45R17 tires> as I want the track at OEM width (it also balances the rear in my truck which has t-bird IRS).

The most common Mustang wheels come from pre-05, and the 7/16ths spacer is commonly used with them. It varies somewhat depending on the exact wheel used.

The 05 and newer wheels have more offset, and typically require a thicker adapter to look right and avoid rubbing on a Ranger.

i got a set of black bullitt wheels off of a 2003. i dont want spacers for a wider look or anything i just to be able to put the center caps back on is all i want the spacers for
