:annoyed: i have an 88 ranga sittn on a 2000 chassis dropped 4" id like to get a little more steering qwickness by using a ford mustang rack and pinion the stock ones arent bad EXCEPT 4 the morfadite retarted halfmoon/triangle/splined/shaft that the steering shaft u-joint connects to :dunno: there is no aftermarket steering u-joint for it so id like to upgrade a little bit. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS??????????? :icon_cheers: i know the mustang rack bolts in 90 degrese from the ranger :icon_welder: but has many steering u-joint options i dont know the angle or width of a mustang rack in comparrison to the ranger tho. :icon_confused:

I am pretty sure that the steering rack is going to be the last thing you have to worry about when you look at different steering knuckles.

do you know of any qwick steer ranger racks? and where i can ger a single nuckle that fits a stock rack?

Why are you trying to change knuckles? Sorry, I'm not super up on high-perf steering.

i had to re do my steering shaft to clear the headers and it looks kindof bad and i donot like the fact that it is not telescoping like it should be for collumn install and removial

Ok, what does that have to do with the knuckles?

i want to redo the steering shaft and make it look good with some stainless nuckles but i cant find any that will fit the stock rack which brings me back to has anyone seen or done a rack upgrade for a 98+

Oh, you are talking about the u-joints on the steering shaft.

The "steering knuckles" are out at the ends, between the ball joints, with a tie-rod end and a wheel bearing hooked to them.

I think you are going to have trouble finding stuff like that for a Ranger chassis. It is build as a truck, not a race car.

If you can mod a Mustang rack in there that might be the best bet. A Mustang int shaft should fit pretty closely then.

yea my bad i couldnt of the word u-joint at the time

i just wish someone did this already so i could have a little insight haha

You are breaking a lot of new ground with your build man. I have not seen another Ranger build geared in quite the same direction as yours.
