I noticed that the tech notes showed that the mustang convertable mount can be used in the ranger. Has anyone used this and if they had any clearance issues?

Yup, I used two of whichever mount doesn't have the stud mounted way off center.

so i assume you used the mustang mount? most of the resources lean toward the advance adapters and the trans dapt set up, they dont say much about the mustang mounts.

It looks like they swap sides to move the motor back a bit?

Keith

I used a pair. The "R" went on the right side, the "L" went on the left side.
They place the engine where ever you drill the holes for the mount. Slots, that is.
And, those companies would like you to use their own mounts.

Here's what a slot typically looks like in a Mustang (this is a Mark VII, same idea, same mount). Lower the engine until the bolt hits, mark it, drill it, slot it downward so the stud can keep traveling until the mount sits flat on the crossmember. Remove the locating nub on the mount, too.
