I want to play internet radio on my home computer and get it into the garage.

What's the best way?

I imagine something bluetooth as the computer is in the next room off the garage and has a dongle already.

"No" to a computer in the garage as it gets below freezing 5 months of the year, dont want the expense, or upkeep of a 5th computer, or accusations of looking at porn.

I just want something more than my AM radio, perhaps pipe Pandora.com to the garage.

Ideas?

How about running speaker wires from your computer into the garage. Plug it into the speaker out on your sound card.

Either that or get a stereo system with a usb hookup for an external audio source.

Easiest way is probably with an ipod.

I have an ipod Dock boombox in my garage.

Dock the ipod, tune to internet radio, done.

Why not just upgrade to FM? :)

Dustin

I have an old car stereo hooked up to some speakers running off a 12 volt power supply and it even has a car antenna plugged in for good reception. looks pretty trashy but it works good.

Depending on how far your computer is from your garage I would run some speaker wire. If its too far away go with the ipod or just a decent radio.

my work place has pandora play in the lobby from about 50 feet away

as far as i know, they assumably just run speaker wire.

would be a pretty easy set up it seems...

also, i believe bluetooth usually maxes out at around 40 feet, but not sure... and it can get interrupted, and is probably expensive for high quality high range.

just my $0.02
