Hey, I have a 1993 Ranger Splash and i don't have headlights and i have tracked down the problem to the multifunction switch.

Ive replaced the headlight switch and checked all the wiring and bulbs and everything works. The only way i can get my headlights to work is to pull back on the multifunction switch and my high beams will stay on as long as i hold back on the lever.

Will this multifunction switch that i found on eBay work

my local parts store wants 140+ to get one so if this one will work and its cheaper then i am going to pick it up. the only problem i see is this one is for a 95-98 and i have a 93 ranger.

thanks rusty.

p.s. i love the ranger station and plan on being on here for a lot.

i will have to try that thanks. Never thought of a dealer because they are usually like 872355 times more then everybody else.

ill call them tomorrow and get back to you guys.

thanks rusty

check the wiring at the switch i had aftermarket head lights and it caused the connector at the switch to melt.

i checked the wiring and it all looks good, i am going to get another switch from either the junkyard or someplace else and hope thats it.

thanks rusty.

Dealers can surprise you sometimes.

One time I priced a plastic crank handle for the window on my '94 at the local chain autoparts store, they wanted $12 for it in their "Help!" section, at the Ford dealer it was $4 & some change.

That switch is pretty intricate though, I'm not sure if it'll be $140, but it still won't be real cheap.

My father buys all Motorcraft parts from Jack Young Co. at work. Everything is cheaper and obviously better than Napa.

Brake pads for 1 tons last 3 times as long...

Really surprised me that almost everything is cheaper via Motorcraft!

a multi-function switch for my escort was only $50 from the dealer (it had the exact same symptoms as your truck).
