That's weird, mine are all bolted in.

it had a nut but the top was flat and i couldnt get the nut off because the top flat part kept spinning as i turned the nut.

and yours is also 10 years newer than mine

must've been the bolts came loose in the plastic then, mine unbolted just fine and I have a '93 also.

No flaps on the Chevy, none on the Ranger either.

I had some SWEET diamond plate ones on the Ranger, but the guy I sold it to (and bought it back from) decided to take them off and throw them out.
