Hi all,

Just picked up this '88 XLT 4x4 extra cab.
2.9L, manual 5 speed

In the future, I would like to build it into a mild prerunner to accompany my '93 Bronco, but for now I'm just going to set it up as a capable hunting/camping/winter rig.

I'm still piecing together the suspension components on my Bronco, so that takes precedence.

Current plans:

-peel off those silly decals and remove running boards

-3" body lift

-new black wheels & 31"'s (may or may not trim fenders)

-winch bumper & winch

-Dana 35 swap

-maybe 8.8 swap

After the swap(s), I will install 4.56's (unless y'all convince me to go 4.88)

-black out trim to match bumper and wheels

-address the [lack of] paint on the roof and rust spot on left bedside

I think that's it for now.
Thanks for looking.

It looks to be in really good shape for how old it is!

Now just waiting on my front bumper to get coated.

Also need to figure out what I want to do to the rear bumper.

I'll keep that in mind :D

Bumper came in, but when I tried to install it last night the holes did not line up.
So now I have to troubleshoot.

I don't know why I love these old light trucks, but you got a sweet old ride there.

What a great score, and the mods so far are nicely executed!
