Whats a realistic expectancy for a 4x4 1989 king cab with the 2.9 motor or what are those of you with this motor getting i have 235 75r15 tires not sure what gearing .

You can use the search function to help narrow things down by locating posts by users in your area, but overall from everything I've read the variance is from 14MPG to 21MPG on average depending on location and driving style. Loads of things factor in, such as the gearing and which tranny you have.

if you are worried about mileage get a civic. if you are wondering,write your mileage on a piece of paper and go from full to empty,fill up and compare mileage to what you put back in.

New an 88 auto trans 4X4 was rated at 21mpg hwy and 17 city and 23 and 18 for a manual. 88 should be similar to 89. You can look at mpgomatic.com
