1994 4X4 single cab short box with 4.0 and 3:27 gears and 29X9.5X15" AT tires (weight = 48lbs each with rim). Normally 19.5-21 MPG. I removed my front airdam a while ago due to fog light relocation...MPG result = lost between 1/2 to 1 MPG on average. Not a big deal really. Gained a chit ton of light at night!!

I then installed 31X10.5X15" tires (weight = 59lbs each with rim). MPG results after 4 tanks of fuel = 15.5mpg consistantly!! BIG DEAL!

I like the black rims and tires but holy chit. I just finished reinstalling the old stock rims and tires.
Thinking about regearing to 4:10 but honestly I don't think so at this point. The stock tires are 98% new and haven't let me down on or off road. I have a winch on a cradle wired for the front and rear in case I get stuck anyway. I also just put on Warn Jeep Hubs for reliability (got a NO Slip locker coming in a few days for the rear). I have 2" leveling spacers and rear shackles to put on it but...raising the truck surely will give me negative MPG results. Someday maybe when it gets regeared I'll put everything on it but not real practical right now. Yeah I know MPG isn't everything but like I said it hasn't let me down yet.

Nice truck. The Rat is the same color on the big cab, but the drive line is 'zactly the same as yours. It runs OK, but doesn't look anywhere near as good Ive got a medium sized list of stuff to fix. But I'm at the less is more stage.

Looks good. I did that years ago with my fog lights. Easy to mount and maintain. I like my KC lights and the covers. I don’t have to remove them to use the fog lights.

Hows it run around town and on the highway. According to the gear chart your running about the equivelant of 3.73 and 35s (without the extra tire weight) which every one says is a nono.

All I run is 2 lane roads, not much hwy. around here. Just giving real world results from my personal, first hand experience. Power loss was barely noticable with the 31's but MPG got shot in the arse.
