Hey.
my sister wants me to move a canoe for her. I think it's maybe 16 feet long. whats the best/safest way to haul it around?

canoe trailer. My dad has a 12" that he used to trailer all over the state with the Ranger.

Build a wooden rack in your box that's the same height as the cab, then flip the canoe over and throw it on top of your truck.

Or just mount it on the roof with foam blocks or a roof rack. Perfectly normal/common way to carry them.

I found a used ladder rack on CL for $50.00. It works great for hauling larger items including lumber, that otherwise will not fit in a supercab box. It is also tall enough to keep the items from rubbing on your paint. I modified it slightly, allowing 4'' c-clamps to hold it in place for easy removal and install.

If you can afford to spend more money, Yakima & Thule make racks. Plus, you can get parts to haul more stuff like bikes or snowboards.
